AFO is a proposed project under the Enduring Atmospheric Platform (EAP) programme of the British research institute ARIA. The programme aims to create a resilient and sustainable platform layer between Earth and space for low-cost and high-speed connectivity purposes.
Fuglesang Space Center (FSC) collaborates with Connectivity Room AB (CRAB) on the AFO project, and this page is a temporary landing place for the domain afo.nu. A first version of the official website is expected to be available by 13th of April 2026.
Should ARIA approve the project (late May), a British company will be registered and run the project, with continued support from FSC and CRAB. Other collaborators in the project are e.g. SSC Space, Infinite Frontiers and Sundial Climate, More information about the project will be available shortly
